Ok, I am new at this and am not really sure what do say. It must be cool to have a blog because it seems everyone is doing it.
What a busy fall we have had! Our family's small business, Little Red Hen and Company, has just gotten off the ground. We spent the summer putting a certified kitchen into the upstairs of our house, and the inspector gave his stamp of approval in August. Our website is www.little-red-hen.com.
We make Kombucha Tea, and a flavored variety that we call Cherry 'Cha. It is delicious and nutritious as well. We also make crock sauerkraut and sprouted wheat flour. The older kids work in the kitchen and learn lots about science and math. Our good friend Becky owns an organic baking business, so she rents space from us one day a week as well.
We came up with the business name one day while preparing the sprouted flour. First, we sprout the berries. Then we dry them in the dehydrator, grind them into flour, and then package them. I really did feel like the Little Red Hen with all those steps involved! The "and Company" refers to the rest of the family; they are invaluable helpers! Dad is our CFO and encourages us to sell sell sell so that we can pay for that kitchen! :)
I don't know how often I will be posting; we will have to wait and see!
